I didn’t have a choice here, folks. This drink has peach and Crown in it. What would you call it?
Fair warning, I am trying to use up the peach nectar I have in the fridge. Expect at least one more drink with peach in it before the end of February. In my research of similar drinks, I found several cocktails called the Princess Peach or Peach Princess. I feel bad about the name, I do, but our drinks are very different. Would you still like to try my version?
1 1/2 oz Crown Royal
1/2 oz honey whiskey
1 oz peach nectar
2 tsp peach schnapps (optional)
lime juice (optional)1
Dip rim of cocktail glass in lime juice. Sprinkle sugar on small plate. Gently push wet rim of glass straight down into the sugar then pull up and carefully place glass on table. . Add ice, Crown, whiskey, nectar and schnapps (if using) to shaker. Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Sip like you’re waiting for the plumber to arrive some time between noon and 6PM…so, have three.
1You can use any liquid you like to wet your rim. I usually prefer lime or lemon juice. Explore. Try simple syrup, schnapps, or water.
2Make your sugar/salt pretty. Fancy sugars cost a bit more than a sack or the ol’ granulated. Place a 1/4c of sugar in a ramekin or small bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring. Stir with a spoon until sugar is a uniform color. Get crazy. Add a extract or flavor oils to really kick up the drink pizazz.
