This Geek Drink of the Week tastes amazing. It was hard not to go with The Pork Chop Express, but I think we went the right way here. We give you Dragon of the Black Pool. During my research I found very few people mix Jack and Lychee or Jack and Midori. This cocktail needed a little Jack. Even though Wang is the hero of Big Trouble in Little China, it wouldn’t work without Jack.
The goal of this recipe was to create a dark drink with a dragon in it. Well, it sort of worked. I tried several methods and checked the specific gravity charts. The pretty green Midori just wouldn’t stay separated for me; either on top or bottom. However, there’s a little bit of a green glow around the edges. The resulting concoction is sweet and not too strong.
1/2 oz Jack Daniels
1/2 oz Blue Curacao
1/2 oz Lychee liquor
1/3 oz Grenadine
2 oz sour mix
1/2 oz Midori
Fill a shaker with ice. Add the first five ingredients and shake. Pour into your cocktail glass. Gently pour in the Midori (using a spoon sometimes help) and hold your tongue just so. It probably won’t stay separate but it will have a bit of a green glimmer.
Sip. Restore your powers for the upcoming battle with the Three Storms.
